Once again, Barcelona celebrates the European Heritage Days (JEP), an initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Commission that has been continuously held in Catalunya since 1991.
European Heritage Days is an event that spans three days, and is open to everyone. Its main goal is to strengthen the links between Catalunya’s cultural heritage and modern society.
The theme this year was proposed by the Council of Europe: sustainable heritage. The event will explore the use of resources in the preservation of cultural heritage and how it links to climate change. It will also explore the role of cultural heritage in a sustainable future and invite the various participating institutions to consider their own environmental impact. This year's featured city will be Igualada.
