Through insightful discussions and imaginative narratives, "Europa!" aims to shape a better tomorrow for the continent by reimagining Europe's future with lessons from history, philosophy, and literature.
Today, more than 60 years after its creation, the European Union is facing challenges that threaten some of its founding values. For the younger generations, the impulse that gave birth to the project, deeply marked by the spectre of World War II and the demand to build peace on the continent, is still far away. This series sets out to imagine a new meaning for Europe, recovering and expanding confidence in the future of its beginnings. Accompanied by leading voices of philosophy and thought, you will delve into the lessons you can learn from common history, like war and fascism, and you will explore the meanings of the words "border" and “freedom." Through literature, you will imagine new narratives that will explore the diversity and complexity of our times and open up new horizons for the continent's future.
With the participation of Nobel Prize winners Olga Tokarczuk and J. M. Coetzee, historians Enzo Traverso and Olivette Otele, philosophers Lea Ypi and Srećko Horvat, writers Edurne Portela and Mathias Énard and political scientist Blanca Garcés.
