Etnoscòpic
1st Festival of contemporary arts and ethnology
to
Museu Etnològic i Cultures del Món (Montcada) Carrer de Montcada 12-14, 08003 Barcelona
Etnoscòpic is a multidisciplinary arts festival around ethnology, resulting from a collaboration between Euphonic Festival and the Museum of Ethnology and World Cultures.
The festival, far from being a mere showcase of world cultures and folklores, was born with the aim of thinking and reconsidering the contemporary condition from a plural and global perspective, willing to establish an artistic dialogue between the cultures of the ancient world and current, offering a new look at the science of peoples.

Nairobi producer and musician KMRU, one of the great exponents of the East African experimental scene and a key name in contemporary ambient music, will open the festival with a concert (12€) at the majestic Santa María del Mar Gothic church, on Thursday, May 27 at 8:30 p.m. An unusual appointment in such an impressive space!
The MUEC collection and various art installations including Martín Kaulen and Andrew Pekler's, video creations by Tabita Rezaire and Lola Mansilla, video-dance pieces by Toni Jodar and Raquel Gualtero and the "possible audio guide" by Irena Visa, can all be visited from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., free of charge and without the need to make a reservation.
Also free of charge, but requiring reservation are the intervention of Irena Visa (with the presence of the artist, Saturday 29 at 12 noon), the DJ set of Troya Modet and the talks of Rosa Amorós, Tania Adam and Franco “Bifo” Berardi.
