Poetry is felt, enjoyed, cried — but it can also be sung, danced and laughed at. In this premiere in Barcelona at the Guitar BCN Festival, Elvira Sastre takes poetry to the stage and dresses it in such a way that those who come to the show can’t help but be moved.

Yo No Quiero Ser Recuerdo is not a “normal” poetry recital, and it is not a concert by a musician: it is a collision of two art forms that invites the spectator to participate. From the purest acoustic sounds to a transgressive mixture of electronic melodies, vocal distortions, recordings inserted into the middle of poems, and musical references of all kinds of genres, Sastre and her musical collaborator Manu Míguez offer a show that is difficult to define.
