The figure of Stéphane Grappelli, one of the great references of the jazz violin, has accompanied Èlia Bastida since her beginnings. In Tribute to Stéphane Grappelli (Jazz to Jazz, 2022), an album she will present at the Jamboree, Bastida offers a particular look at this musician, who she defines as lyrical, passionate, detail-oriented and romantic. Èlia Bastida is considered one of the best jazz violinists of her generation. Not surprisingly, she has traveled halfway around the world since she was very young; first as a member of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band and later as leader of a trio and quartet. In her fruitful career she has performed and recorded with musicians of the stature of Scott Hamilton, Joel Frahm, Joe Magnarelli, Dick Oatts and John Allred and has played in Switzerland, Sweden, Holland, Denmark, Italy, France and India.
