In an eminently romantic program, London’s Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Masaaki Suzuki, will perform two works by Antonín Dvořák, the Othello overture and Symphony No. 6. These include a furiant movement, a type of lively Czech dance that the composer often incorporated into his scores, and Cello Concerto, Op. 129 by Robert Schumann, with soloist Jean-Guihen Queyras, a regular performer at the Palau.

Masaaki Suzuki is founder and music director of the prestigious Bach Collegium Japan. In addition to collaborating with renowned period ensembles, Suzuki is invited to conduct repertoires from all eras at the head of the most prestigious international orchestras.
