Cinema, science, technology and feminism come together in the Docs Hedy Lamarr documentary film series. This fourth edition of the series consists of three screenings and will explore the physical effects of technology beyond digital life: from how violence is exerted on feminized bodies to how people reclaim technology and join together to assert their rights.

Digital life and physical life are intertwined, there is no separating the two. The effects that the Internet and technology have on people’s lives are more visible than ever. An irrefutable example is the violence suffered by women and non-binary people online, but also by activists who dedicate themselves to denouncing the violations of states and technological corporations.

The protagonists of Docs Hedy Lamarr show us that this discrimination can be fought against through organization and community, and despite the many flagrant violations, we can reclaim technology and assert our rights.

June 7, 21:00, Another Body, Sophie Compton and Reuben Hamlyn, (US, 2023)

The first screening Another Body, follows the story of Taylor, a university student who discovers fake pornography of herself circulating on the Internet.

June 14, 21:00, Terror Contagion, Laura Poitras (US, 2021) and Quipu Calls for Justice, Rosemarie Lerner and Maria Court (Peru, 2017)

The double screening of the short films Terror Contagion (2021) and Quipu: Calls for Justice (2017) explores two communities that have suffered abuse from governments and corporations.

June 28, 21:00, Remember My Name, Elena Molina (Spain, 2023)

The final screening Remember My Name follows the collective revolution through the dance of a group of unaccompanied minors in Melilla.
