Barcelona is home to an estimated 19,000 Chinese residents and with the first new moon of the 2025 comes the celebration of Chinese New Year, which welcomes the Year of the Snake. The festival will begin with an opening ceremony and a spectacular parade at 11:00, followed by traditional activities and performances throughout the day organized by cultural associations like Instituto Confucio de Barcelona and Casa Asia.
The gastronomic fair on Paseo San Juan from 12:30 to 21:30 offers the opportunity to taste traditional Chinese dishes. From zongzi rice, wrapped in bamboo leaf, to Qingtian beef soup and Chinese crepes and pizzas, you can immerse yourself in a tasty experience. Kite-making or lantern-making workshops and the chance to try on a qipao, the traditional Chinese dress, make this celebration an experience for the whole family.
