Céu was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1980 and her passion for music was inspired and guided by her father, teacher, and composer Edgard Poças, with whom she took singing lessons and learned music theory. Céu began to dedicate herself fully to musical life at the age of 15 when she decided to take guitar lessons. At the age of 18, she went to live in New York, where she met producer Antonio Pinto, known for creating the soundtrack for the film City of God, and Beto Villares, producers with whom she scored commercials and films such as Cidade Baixa, by Sérgio Machado and Senhor das Armas, created by Antonio Pinto himself. A year later she moved to Paris, where her career took off, showing from that moment on, that the mix of sounds, pop, soft rock and tints of traditional MPB, were compatible with jazz, which gave her a place in the JVC Jazz Festival in Paris, where she opened the show for the singer Tânia Maria.
In 2016 she released her album Tropix, full of new musical tints, produced by Pupillo (drummer of Nação Zumbi) and Frenchman Hervé Salters (General Elektriks). In this fourth studio album, Céu manages to create an authentic universe of disco music that plays between old electro, lo-fi, psychedelic rock and trip-hop that when mixed with her voice achieve wonderful interpretations.
In 2017 she unveiled a collaboration with the group Café Preto, the song called ''Agua, Fogo Terramar'' has dub and ragga rhythms that make anyone dance. In recent years Céu has performed at the biggest festivals in the world such as Montreal Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz, Coachella, Roskilde, Rock un Rio, SF Jazz and JVC Jazz, so it is important not to lose track of her because in each new album she shows her capacity for musical innovation.
