Cerdanya International Film Festival 2025
to
Puigcerdà Puigcerdà

Founded in 2010, The Cerdanya International Film Festival began as a short film competition showcasing the heritage, nature, landscape and people in the area. Over the years what was once a small village festival has become a prestigious event—a must-see for filmmakers in the summer—and now is one of the most important events in the region. The program includes short and feature-length fiction, fantasy, animation and documentary films.
Last year's edition featured more than 150 films, including short films and feature films, in the fiction, animation and documentary genres. The festival opened with the film Canigó 1883, directed by Albert Naudín and the short film El llegat de l’egiptòleg, directed by Josep Padró and in homage to his father, an eminent Egyptologist with roots in Cerdanya. Over 11 days, national and international premieres of short films and documentaries were presented.
Designed to bring cinema closer to the audience, activities include children’s sessions and late-night showings.
For film industry professionals, the festival offers workshops, conferences, exhibitions and guided tours around the main attractions of Puigcerdà. Programing for the 2024 festival will be announced soon on the festival website.
