Vocal and instrumental jazz find their connection in vocalese: a technique that consists of adding lyrics to solos or instrumental melodies in order to be able to sing them.

Madrid singer Carmen Lancho practices vocalese with a varied repertoire of traditional standards. Lancho interprets both classic vocals, from bebop on, as well as others of her own authorship. She is accompanied by an excellent group of musicians from the Catalan scene, Diego Hervalejo, Giuseppe Campisi and Adrià Claramunt—a magnificent quartet.
