In the spirit of the Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro, the Carnaval de Sitges is one of the biggest Carnaval celebrations in Spain, attracting thousands of visitors each year for more than a century.

For a whole week starting on February 12th, the city of Sitges will come alive in a spectacular series of daily festivities. With parades of floats and street dancing, parties, live music and one-of-a-kind activities, Carnaval de Sitges is a celebration of all things extravagant and theatrical.

The main parades (and party nights) are the rua de la disbauxa (debauchery parade) on Sunday, February 15th and the rua de l’extermini (extermination parade) on the following Tuesday, February 17th. Be prepared for standing room only on the train to and from Barcelona!
