El Capullo de Jerez is one of the very few cantaores payos who have the gypsy audience going crazy. His real name is Miguel Flores Quiroz and he was born in 1954, although he did not publicly establish himself as a leading figure until a few years ago.
His mastery of flamenco singing is not limited to the festive palos that have made him so popular, and he possesses a stage presence that is unforgettable. After almost three decades of professional career, acquiring experience in hundreds of parties and gatherings, he is at the best moment of his career.
El Capullo de Jerez holds the secrets of the most traditional flamenco. He is an artist in the old style, trained since he was a child in the school of life and a cantaor twenty-four hours a day. He's an absolutely personal performer, who can be identified, without the slightest doubt, almost before he starts to warm up.
