Elio spends every summer at his parents’ country house in northern Italy, sunbathing, reading and hanging out with friends. In the summer of his 17th year, however, the family receives a visit from Oliver, a handsome post-doctoral student who is to be his father’s assistant. At first their relationship is cold and distant but, inevitably, first love soon begins to blossom under the hot sun of the Italian Riviera. The original version is in English with Spanish subtitles (plus a few short dialogues in French and Italian).
Live music by Los Carosones starts at 20:45. To see Los Carosones play live is to take a magical journey through the music that was listened and danced to in Italy in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s: from swing to twist, and from jazz to mambo, from cha-cha-cha to tarantella. This is an explosive, high-energy show with an unmistakable Mediterranean flavor.
