Janine Cathrein and a band of passionate musicians make up Black Sea Dahu, a creative alliance that propels them from the studio to the world's stages. Their acclaimed debut album White Creatures and subsequent EP No Fire in the Sand were co-produced by Gavin Gardiner. Since the release of their debut, the group has toured throughout Europe, filling clubs and sharing stages with artists such as Ben Howard, José Gonzales, Lucy Rose and Sophie Hunger.
Their songs are about empathy, acceptance and the art of recognizing beauty in an endless dance between the mediocre and the sublime. They're about finding roots and a place in a world that is always changing and all kinds of relationships: love, family, society—essentially, a passionate and honest love letter to music.
They have played festivals such as Reeperbahn, The Great Escape, M4music, MaMA and Eurosonic. The newly released singles "Glue," "Transience'' and "Affection" pave the way for the album I Am My Mother.
