Don’t miss a screening of the first major documentary about the iconoclastic and revolutionary German performance artist and sculptor, Joseph Beuys. Beuys' expanded concept of art has a direct impact on the social, political and moral debates of our present. The film is a portrait and chronicle of the life and work of a key figure in understanding 20th-century art.
Collecting previously unpublished audio and videos, director Andres Veiel creates an associative and porous portrait of the artist, in which Beuys opens up new spaces for ideas to germinate. The artist boxes, talks, lectures, explains the meaning of art to a dead hare and asks the important question: "Do you want to create a revolution without laughter?"
