Berdache [Gender Art Festival]
to

The berdache or badea, also known as "two spirits," are individuals belonging to Amerindian peoples of North America. They had the behavioral patterns of both genders (male and female). The berdache were considered to possess the ability to defy nature and were therefore special.
Berdache [Gender Art Festival] builds a space where art becomes the backbone to navigate issues related to gender, an object of debate that has been positioned in recent years as a social phenomenon. This issue is developed by coining new concepts and giving visibility to “non-normative” realities, but above all by overthrowing prejudices. For this purpose, samples of leading artists in the research and development of works linked to the genre will be held.
Berdache develops his speech using artistic expression as raw material and the city of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, one of the most effervescent creative centers on the national scene, as a location. This festival has the objective of making known local, national and international artists, who, with their work, invite us to reflect and bring us closer to new points of view. A program with a high power of attraction to reach all types of audiences, a space where you can ask, know, discover and reflect: discover it.
