"A Gaza Weekend" by Basil Khalil (UK, 2022) at the Begur International Film Festival.
The Begur Costa Brava International Film Festival brings together thousands of comedy film fans every year. The festival also presents sections dedicated to short films, films produced in Mediterranean countries and films aimed at children and families. Parallel activities take place during the festival: exhibitions, music concerts, film workshops as well as professional meetings.
Program
The 2024 program is in the works. Last year's screenings included the British film A Gaza Weekend, by director Basil Khalil, a poignant and funny comedy of a British journalist who tries to escape Israel after the UN imposes restrictions on air and sea traffic due to the spread of a virus; the delirious Juste Ciel! by Laurent Tirard, starring some very peculiar nuns; the American film Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, by Eric Apple, starring Daniel Radcliffe and Evan Rachel Wood; the Canadian comedy The End of the Sex, by Sean Garrity, about the pressures of parenthood and adulthood; and French film Les choses simples, a comedy directed by Éric Besnard, starring Lambert Wilson and Grégory Gadebois.
