The Zurich Marató Barcelona is much more than a sporting event, it's a mass event with participants who flock here from all over the world in search of an amazing personal experience in one of the most beautiful cities on Earth.
The Zurich Marató Barcelona blends sport, leisure and citizen celebrations. The capital has thrown its weight behind the event year after year and never fails to show its support for the runners on the day of the race. What makes the Marató special is its host city, with its open, inclusive and cosmopolitan spirit, its Mediterranean flavor, a Modernist past that has left its mark in its exceptional architecture, which can be recognized at first sight around the globe, and its world-famous cuisine.
The main goal of the event is to make participants the stars of the race. This unique journey starts when you sign up for the race and ends when you cross the finish line. From the youngest participant to the oldest, from the local woman to the man who comes from the other side of the world, from the steadfast wheelchair athlete to the worthy champion. Together with hundreds of volunteers, performers, medical professionals, physiotherapists and citizens, every single one of you helps make the Zurich Marató Barcelona a magical experience.
According to the runners who have participated, the course is one of the most spectacular in the world and has been designed to give you a magical experience with each stride. Its urban circuit runs through the heart of the cosmopolitan, open and active city. The modernist legacy of Gaudí, the characteristic organization of Eixample, Camp Nou and a very dedicated public will force you to raise your head if you do not want to miss a detail of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
