Barcelona Festival of Fools

Great clowns from all over the world come to Barcelona to join a varied program of shows.
The Festival of Fools will be celebrated in five of the city’s theatres—El Cercle de Gràcia, Lluïsos de Gràcia, Lluïsos d’Horta, Foment Hortenc and the Gleva Theatre—and there will be a total of fourteen shows at affordable prices brought to you by some of the most outstanding clowns on the international scene.
The Festival of Fools activities and the Ship of Fools International Master Class will be launched on Sunday, September 4 on Barcelona beach by Leo Bassi, who will be conducting a baptism of clowns in the sea after having officiated at a Patolic Mass dedicated to the greater glory of clowns in a Bassibus.
Apart from the event launch, there will be other free activities, such as four Fools Militia parades, the presentation of the book Amsterdam’s Compleat Fools, the closing ceremony in the Plaça del Nord and the Festival of Foolms, Pel·lis per a Ximples at the Drassanes Civic Centre.
