French soprano Axelle Fanyo performs at the L'Auditori in Barcelona.
Not only does Axelle Fanyo have a talent for expressing character through her expression and body language, she has the power to tell a story through song. This versatile artist has earned international acclaim from both critics and the public. She will be performing works by Arnold Schönberg and William Bolcom — both of which she previously performed at the Concours international de Chant-Piano Nadia et Lili Boulanger 2021, where she was awarded the competition's first prize.
She will also pay tribute to women of African descent with the spiritual song "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child," and with works by two great twentieth-century composers: Florence Beatrice Price and Margaret Bonds.
Finally, she will perform the national premiere of a new piece by Greek composer Sofia Avramidou.
