In the Yoruba language, the polysemic word “ashé” means “power," “gift," “luck,” and “virtue.”
Ashé is the name chosen by a quartet of Cuban musicians living in Barcelona with brilliant musical curriculums. They play the best son, guaracha, rumba, cha-cha-cha, mambo and boleros that you’re likely to hear in Barcelona.
At the Mas i Mas Festival they present Antaño con Swing, a show designed to bring back the music that could be heard in Cuba from the 1920's through the 1950's.
Musicians:
- Yadira Ferrer - vocals
- Félix Ramos - piano
- Guelmy Vásquez - bass
- Yonder de Jesús Peña Llovet - bongos
