Arts d’Estiu Costa Barcelona is an annual summer festival in Pineda de Mar hosting a diverse lineup of artists, from Ara Malikian to Amaral and God Save the Queen. Created in 2000 to bridge the gap between music festivals and local culture in Catalunya, it acts as a meeting ground for artists from a variety of disciplines. In recent years, big name performers, including Miguel Bosé, Sopa de Cabra, Manel and Goyo Jiménez, have drawn audiences of more than 11,000 spectators. For a fun evening of entertainment on the lovely Maresme coast, the 50 kilometer journey to Pineda de Mar is well worth the trip. Doors open at 20:00 and most shows start at 22:00.
If you want a break or just need to sneak away form the crowd for a drink and a bite, the festival also offers "El Village." There you'll find a space with a pleasant atmosphere, small-scale performances and varied gastronomic offers in a laid-back setting. It's a space where you can eat, drink, shop, dance and have fun, right next to the beach.
The Summer ARTS Village usually opens its doors every day of the concert at 19:00. Access to the area will be open to the public, with or without a concert ticket, and with limited capacity. Inside the village you can enjoy different spaces: a stage with live music, various gastronomic areas with food trucks and local food bars, a play area for children and a small market selling local products. And, starting at midnight after each concert, if you feel like more, there will be drinks and yet more music to end the night in the best way.
This year's confirmed artistes include Carlos Rivera, Rozalén, José Mercé, Sopa de Cabra and El Kanka to name a few. See the festival's website for full programing.
