Álvaro Torres is a pianist and composer interested in the dialogues and possibilities between jazz and free improvisation, with a background in Western classical music and with a premise on which he bases his particular aesthetic search: improvisation. The press has described him as "one of the most restless pianists of the new generation."

Two of the leading figures in jazz and improvisation collaborate with him: the versatile and veteran drummer Kresten Osgood and the uniquely intuitive double bass player, Masa Kamaguchi. The trio is a meeting point between improvisation and avant-garde jazz, facilitated by Torres' compositions. A music that evokes and makes us connect with human emotions, as the title of his album suggests: Heart Is the Most Important Ingredient.
