The audiovisual language of Alex Reynolds is nourished by what is elusive, accidental, unconscious, and barely perceptible. His work has been exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, at the Index Foundation (Stockholm), at Hollybush Gardens (London), at the Center d'Art la Panera (Lleida), the Marta Cervera Gallery (Madrid) or the Joan Miró Foundation (Barcelona), among others.
The rapporteur is a key figure in the functioning of the National Tribunal for the Right to Asylum (CNDA) in France. As a representative of the State, he carries out a detailed analysis and questions inconsistencies and omissions. His figure is comparable to that of a “ventriloquist,” as he incorporates in the same voice both the testimony of the asylum seeker and the court's reception criteria.
Alex Reynolds' new film project was selected in the 2020 Support for Creation call by the La Caixa Foundation, and is presented within this exhibition. It proposes a reflection on the power of building a story about the lives and bodies of its protagonists, without forgetting the structural violence inherent in European migration policies.
