Aalto recounts the life and work of one of the greatest modern architects, Alvar Aalto. The Finnish documentary shares for the first time the epic love story of Alvar and his architect wife, Aino.

The film takes the audience on a tour of his iconic works around the world, including one of his most beautiful buildings in Finland, a library in Russia, a student residence at MIT, and the private home of an art collector near Paris. We learn about the colorful history of Modernism as seen through his eyes, and we meet an infinite array of historical characters along the way: The Rockefellers, Le Corbusier, László Moholy-Nagy, and more.

This documentary organically combines entertainment and knowledge. This film will be shown in its original languages of German, Italian, Russian, French, Finnish and English.
