Yo.mariabrex is a visionary, searching for wisdom, healing and feminine empowerment through her passions: painting, poetry, music, natural medicines and Reiki. A creative nomad, her art reflects her deep experiences of studying and living in different countries including Italy, Holland and Spain.
“Art is my free island, my shelter from the storm.”
“My art depicts the present, the past and sometimes the future…to me art is life itself.”
Her latest exhibition, A Part of Us, is influenced by current historical events. Absolute pure color celebration. Splashes of creativity without figurative elements. Elements of nature abstracted. No borders. No confinement. Universal fusion as an answer to lockdown, fear, loss of liberty. Transcending the physical, surfing the metaphysical, recovering freedom and faith by transforming them into colors.
The power of colors is what Yo.mariabrex wants to share with people, with the hope that they enjoy their hues and nuances and find pleasure and joy in them. “Colors can keep us grounded, reconnect us to nature, make us fly to from sky to ocean, and transport us to the future with imaginary bridges. They can also give hope, soothe wounds and fear and ease anxiety…. Colors are Magic.”
