Seven students in the master’s degree program in Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Thought at the UPF share their personal interpretations of a selection of pieces from the exhibition “Sade: Freedom or Evil," exchanging opinions with visitors.
Sade was a clandestine, controversial, and often censored writer who was imprisoned, but is now a classic of French literature. He was acclaimed as a revolutionary who supported freedom, and denounced as for causing scandal and outrage both in his writings and in his personal life. The exhibition “Sade: Freedom or Evil" looks at the stereotypes associated with his name and explores the aesthetic, philosophical and political implications of his legacy. This examination of his work challenges us to confront the most disturbing aspects of human nature.
The event will be held in Spanish, Catalan and English.
