Metropolitan Culture Corner: Franc Aleu

by

This month Tori Sparks interviews world renowned lighting artist, set designer, director, videographer and tech wizard Franc Aleu. The Barcelona native has worked in opera houses all over the world—including Barcelona’s own Liceu—and created innovative art in uncommon formats and unexpected locations.

Is the future of opera virtual reality in three dimensions? Watch the interview to find out!

Last month, we went behind the scenes with award-winning international playwright, director, producer and actress Denise Duncan. She is one of the founding members of the theater collectives Col·lectiu Tinta Negra and La Pulpe Teatre, and her works for the stage ask tough questions on race, gender and society. She is an integral part of Barcelona’s activist theater scene, though she also collaborates with productions in her native Cuba.
