The Entourage: Photography by Enric Tormo exhibition presents a selection of photographs deposited by Enric Tormo Freixes in the archive of the Fundació Joan Miró. All photographs were taken in the 1940s and 1950s, and portray the people who made up Miró’s closest personal and profesional circle during the years he lived in Barcelona, before he took up residence in Mallorca. The photographs were taken in various settings, and we see Joan Miró working on sculptures and large-format paintings, as well as in moments of careful observation and reflection.
Many of these are spontaneous photographs, showing Miró's working spaces and studio, along with moments of leisure. The selection of pieces shows some of these moments in clear contrast to the atmosphere of a downtrodden society, which surrounded his luminous bubble of friends and collaborators.
