B-Film Festival in Cornellà
to
Auditori Sant Ildefons Plaça Carles Navales s/n, 08940 Barcelona
Dedicated to promoting B movies in Catalunya, B-Retina champions the work of emerging talent in the industry, which otherwise would never make it to the big screen. The theme for the festival’s eighth edition is “Indians and cowboys” featuring a surreal cocktail of of B-series westerns together with blockbusters from Bollywood and Tollywood such as Indian action thriller Krack by Ram Gopal Varma (2022) and revisionist western action film Kodama Simham (The Majestic Lion) by K. Murali Mohana Rao (1990) where there is no shortage of traditional musical numbers.
This year's special guest is Spanish actor and singer Fernando Esteso (Los bingueros, Yo hice a Roque III), who will receive the Golden Ticket award in recognition of his career. Esteso will host a screening of one of the funniest and most unusual films in Spanish cinema, Al este del oeste (1984), by Mariano Ozores which openly parodies the western genre, with absurd and hilarious musical numbers.
