Metropolitan Culture Corner: Alex Alonso

Welcome back to the Metropolitan Culture Corner, where once a month we have the opportunity to hear from a notable local figure in the world of art and culture. 

This month, we go behind the scenes with luthier Alex Alonso, founder of DHR Custom Guitars in El Prat de Llobregat, right next to Barcelona. Alex specializes in adjustments, maintenance, modifications and repairs of guitar and bass instruments, both electric and acoustic. DHR is known for taking really good care of its customers, and for personalizing each instrument so that it's configured precisely to the needs of each player. Its client list includes everyone from amateur players to high-end instrument collectors, and from established artists to famous producers.

Last month, we interviewed Alex Garrido and Rafael Laprea, managing partners in the boutique sparkling wine producers Mevalonics by Garrido Essences: Melavonics creates artisanal wine experiences, offering an original concept that captures the aromas of nature in the form of natural essences called terpenes, combining them with grapes from old Spanish vineyards in the tradition of the Garrido family.
