Drawing conclusions

Pictures can paint a thousand words, but when it comes to cartoons, in just a few strokes of the pen, pencil or brush, they can spark debate, outrage and, on occasion, diplomatic incidents between countries and violent retribution. For the first time in Catalunya, the World Press Cartoon exhibition is stopping off here, bringing 400 of the best of newspaper and magazine cartoons from last year, cartoons that sought to put politicians, celebrities and society at large in their place.

Prizes are awarded in various categories, including caricature, editorial and humour, and the 2008 edition sees winners coming from around the world, and a total of 62 countries and over 270 publications.
