Portugal Convida ‘09

Coinciding with the National Day of Portugal on June 10th, Barcelona is hosting a week to celebrate culture and customs from the other side of the Iberian Peninsula.

Art is one of the principal features, and there will be a public installation by the artist Xana, as well as a series of conferences entitled ‘Art and the city’. Music is another of the main attractions, with the fadista Katia Guerreiro performing an inaugural concert in the Plaça del Rei. Along with films and wine-tasting, this is a chance to feel like you’re in Portugal without going there.
