Multi-coloured swap party

If you’re having difficulties getting yourself a new winter wardrobe, what with the crisis and all, one option would be to head to Swap-a-rama, a new monthly party night in Barcelona that sees guests have to swap an item of clothing each time a klaxon sounds (which by all accounts, happens on a very regular basis).

Organiser Derek Robertson says the event’s not just for those looking for a new set of gladrags, though; there are many who go the other way and try for the oddest and most comical look they can. Whichever you prefer (and presumably it’s possible to combine the two), be warned: once you’ve swapped something, it’s officially no longer yours, so don’t go wearing your favourite t-shirt or pair of jeans. Instead, take a tip from Robertson: wear lots of layers and accessories and, if necessary, borrow from the dressing-up box he provides to ensure laughs not tears when you see what you end up with once the party’s over.
