
Workshops, guided tours, live music and, of course, the city’s best exhibitions—on May 14th, La Nit dels Museus returns, with over 70 museums across the city opening their doors for free from 19:00 until 1:00 in the morning! From Montjuïc to Tibidabo and everywhere in between, culture vultures can get their fill of all the best the city's museums have to offer. Here’s our pick of the top spots to get your culture fix on the night. (Just remember that due to limitations on capacity, advance reservations are required at many places!)

CaixaForum Barcelona
CaixaForum has organized a fun-filled program of activities to get in the spirit of La Nit dels Museus. In addition to free access to its exhibits The Magritte Machine , The Poetic Grammar of the Hack and the immersive audiovisual experience Symphony, there will be live music with El Viatge de les Mans and interactive workshops using games to teach the whole family about art and history. Discover hidden corners of the castle on a tour through dungeons and old barracks. Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA)
MACBA kicks off museum night with Up and down the stairs, a flamenco performance developed by Teresa Lanceta and Pedro G. Romero. Romero will read his own texts and dancers Javiera de la Fuente, Fuensanta "La Moneta" and Ana Morales will perform around Lanceta’s weavings and fabrics. The open house includes access to the exhibits In Real Time. Rafael Tous Collection of Conceptual Art; The MACBA Collection; and Repair Manuals and Cosmic Sounds. Enjoy the museum's exhibits and activities free of charge all night long! In Planet Life travel through the history of life on our planet and marvel at the diversity of nature. (In)Visibles y (O)Cultas (Invisible and Hidden) explores the lives of 24 scientific women deprived of recognition. And, the exhibit An LGTBI+ look at Planeta Vida proposes a journey through the sexual diversity of the animal world with an LGTBIQA+ perspective. Piano music fills the evening air as you discover the museum's Live Rooftop—the first wild green roof of the city. Museu de la Música de Barcelona
Carrer Lepant 150, 08013 BarcelonaHead to l’Auditori’s very-own museum for Aresta, by Marc Vilanova, a special sound and performance installation featuring an ensemble of autonomous saxophones playing music computer-generated through algorithmic composition processes—and there are not humans on stage! The saxophones are filled with hundreds of LEDs, generating a light choreography as the music plays. Vilanova will also be performing solo saxophone concerts using the instrument as a sound generator and creating a palette of musical sounds that goes beyond anything you can imagine.
