The Sant Martí del Clot Church is located in the Parish that gives it its name, a construction from the 1940s that has little or nothing to do with the monumentality of the previous temple, looted and set on fire in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War.
The old church, of considerable dimensions, was the work of the architect Pere Falqués, who also designed the Mercado del Clot, the District Headquarters of Sant Martí and the School of Arts and Crafts Juan Manuel Zafra. The current construction stands out for its porticoed entrance and its sober interior, but with attention-grabbing details, such as its coffered ceiling, the stained glass windows and the light above the altar. In front of the Parish is the stone sculpture of Canon Francesc Rodó y Sala, former rector of the church and to whom the neighborhood dedicated this statue, an early version of which was also destroyed during the Civil War.
