Rice & Spice Cooking is a boutique culinary experience based in Barcelona, Spain, founded by American chef Nicole, who has lived in Spain since 2007. After a 15-year career in English education, Nicole followed her passion for food by graduating from the Michelin-accredited Hofmann Culinary School in 2020 and later completing an advanced rice specialization. Her deep appreciation for Spanish and Catalan culinary traditions led her to create Rice & Spice Cooking as a way to bring people together through food, culture, and conversation.
The company offers intimate, hands-on cooking classes held on Nicole’s sunny rooftop terrace in the Sants neighborhood. These classes include traditional Spanish tapas, authentic paella and fideuá dishes, and a popular market tour and cooking session that begins with a guided visit to Mercat de Sants.
