Plaça d’Ignaci Juliol is located across form the Rectory of the church of Sant Martí de Provençals, a vestige of the past that testifies to the long history of this neighborhood.
The church is a reconstruction carried out between the 15th and 17th centuries, but the history of the village is much older: a small settlement already existed in the 10th century, and long before that, in Roman times, this area was already being cultivated. The church's portal is Gothic, while the rest of the façade and the bell tower are Baroque. Saint Martin of Tours could be seen on the tympanum, but sadly, the figure was lost when the church burned down in 1936.
