Catalunya's Archaeological Museum forms a network of museums and archeological sites throughout the autonomous community. Its Barcelona branch, which sits at the foot of Parc de Montjuïc is one of Spain´s major pre-medieval museums. The museum says that its main objective is to preserve, research and diffuse archeological remains that outline the process of historical evolution from pre-history to the Middle Ages.
Entry to the museum costs €3 general admission, €2.10 for many visitors such as 16-18 year olds and the unemployed, and is free for many more, such as university students, over-65s and under-16s.
