La Pobla de Claramunt

La Pobla de Claramunt's history is defined by the Claramunt Castle. Founded in the late 10th century, it was one of a dense network of castles that marked the frontier between the County of Barcelona and Al-Andalus. The area later became an administrative center for the Cardona lineage, and a significant local center for the paper industry due to its proximity to water sources. The castle, which has been rebuilt several times after being damaged in various wars, stands as the most prominent historical landmark.
