Come hiking in the unique setting of the Mount Montserrat Natural Park, visit the Benedictine abbey and hear the famous boys' choir, the Escolania.
Montserrat literally means "sawtooth mountain" in reference to its jagged rock formations. It is known as the home of the Benedictine abbey of Santa Maria de Montserrat and its famous Black Madonna, 'La Moreneta'. The visit begins with a tour of the monastery.After visiting the abbey , we'll get ready and set off on our hike from the monastery . This pleasant walk passes through rocky formations and includes many natural viewing spots with breathtaking views of the abbey and surrounding forests. The route will take us to the highest point on the mountain, where you will be able to enjoy fabulous 360o views. On a clear day, you can see the Pyrenees and the island of Mallorca.After taking photos and eating a delicious, typical Catalan sandwich we will begin our descent to the abbey , where you'll hear the famous boys' choir – the Escolania – sing (Monday to Friday only).
