Constructed in 1917, Can Fontanet formerly housed carts and horses and served the spinning mill of the the Fabra i Coats company.
A thorough renovation has transformed the former stables and spinning mill into the only Els Tres Tombs interpretation center in Catalunya. The original space retains its modernist entrance for carriage traffic and includes a stable for four horses, a permanent carriage exhibition with historical images and explanations, a recreation of an old blacksmith's forge, and an exhibition space and conference room.
Els Tres Tombs Festival
The Els Tres Tombs festival is celebrated throughout Catalonia to mark the feast day of Saint Anthony Abbot, patron saint of animals, around January 17th. The main ritual consists of parading horses, carts, and other draft animals around the town three times, a practice known as tres tombs.
