Sponsored by EuroAmerican Financial Advisors.
The new Moving to Spain YouTube series follows Americans who have already made the move, sharing what the process was like, what surprised them, what they wish they’d known, and what life in Spain is actually like. The series starts in September, and a new episode will drop each month. Espisode 1 (above) features Michael and Maya who have moved from North Carolina to Spain to retire.

Turning Dream into Reality
The idea of moving to Spain begins with a dream: better weather, a slower pace of life, rich European culture and the opportunity for a change and an adventure. But turning that dream into reality involves a lot of research, planning and preparation.
A new YouTube series, Moving to Spain, aims to show what moving to Spain is really like through the experiences of Americans who have already made the move. Launching on Thursday, September 17, 2026, each episode explores the full journey from initial planning to settling into everyday life in Spain.
Anyone who has already made the move will recognize many of the challenges and experiences all would-be expats share. Where in Spain should you live? Should you rent first or begin a property search immediately? Which visa is right for your circumstances, and how early should you start the process?
You also need to consider Spanish banking, transferring money internationally, and managing US brokerage and investment accounts.
Personal Stories and Interviews
The series brings these issues to life through personal stories, as interviewees discuss what they did before moving, what went smoothly, and what they would do differently if they were starting again.
They also share how they are finding life in Spain and how it compares with the idea of it they had before they moved, the biggest cultural adjustments, and their favorite as well as the most challenging aspects of Spanish life.
The series is jointly sponsored by four businesses that work with Americans moving to and living in Spain: EuroAmerican Financial Advisors, Klev&Vera, Lumon and Dream Nest Spain. Together, the firms cover several of the specialist areas that people commonly need to address when relocating, including financial planning, immigration, international currency transfers and property-related services.
“Moving to Spain is an incredibly exciting decision and an amazing experience, but there are a lot of practical questions to work through before you get on the plane,” said Shane Clark, President of EuroAmerican Financial Advisors. “What struck us when speaking to people who have already made the move is how often the same questions and challenges come up—where to live, visas, finding a home, moving money, banking and investments, as well as adjusting to a different way of life. In this series we hear directly from those who have been through it: what they did right, what surprised them and what they might have done differently, to help others still planning.”
The first episode of Moving to Spain featuring Maya and Michael will be released on YouTube on Thursday, September 17th, with new episodes following monthly.
