The Photographic Social Vision Foundation is organizing for the 16th time the most renowned exhibition of photojournalism worldwide, bringing together the winning photographs and multimedia productions of the World Press Photo Photography and Digital Narrative competitions. This year, three Spanish photographers are among the prize-winners: from Barcelona, Ricard García Vilanova and Ramon Espinosa, and from Seville, Antonio Pizarro Rodríguez.
Presenting works—many previously unseen in Spain—chosen for their visual quality, the exhibition offers various viewpoints on current affairs: multiple, panoramic gazes that invite us to reflect. This exhibition of winning photographs, which starts its world tour in Amsterdam, will visit over one hundred cities and 45 countries all over the world, reaching a global audience of over four million spectators.
Here in Barcelona, the experience goes beyond the mere observation of the winning works; they are complemented with a carefully chosen program of parallel activities open to the public, designed to generate debate and to examine in greater depth the themes of the winning projects. Additionally, there are also a series of especially highly recommended guided tours, aimed at schools, companies and the general public, which will enrich the understanding of the exhibits and offer enlightenment regarding the values and challenges of photojournalism today.
