Film still from "Western," directed by Bill Ross IV and Turner Ross (USA, 2015).
The third feature-length documentary by the Ross brothers is an intimate portrait of two neighboring towns located on either side of the Texas-Mexico border. Although they have lived in peace for a long time, the communities of Eagle Pass (Texas) and Piedras Negras (Mexico) are increasingly threatened by drug cartel violence. But when darkness descends upon these harmonious border towns, a cowboy and lawman face a new reality that threatens their way of life. With lyrical imagery and immersive observations of the daily lives of the townspeople, it offers a compassionate account of the human cost of violence.
Film will be screened in original version with subtitles in Catalan.
A film in the 2026 edition the Americana Film Festival.
