The women's stage race of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya celebrates its second edition this year from June 6th to 8th. After a successful first edition that took place last June with a victory by Marianne Vos, a legend of women's world cycling, the second edition aims to consolidate itself as one of the benchmark races on the international calendar. The race took over from the reVolta, four editions of a one-day race that in 2024 evolved into the UCI 2.1 category. This step expanded the race to three stages and allowed the participation of up to seven UCI Women's World Tour teams in addition to UCI Women's Continental Teams and also national teams such as the Catalan national team.
Featuring three diverse stages traversing much of the Catalan landscape, the Tour of Catalunya's women's stage promises to showcase the rich diversity of Catalan geography, including one with a high-altitude finish that will surely amaze teams and participants. The race occupies a strategic calendar slot, appealing to riders eyeing competitions like the Giro Donne or the Tour de France Femmes.
