Throughout his prolific career, Vicenç Altaió has promoted the recognition of avant-garde poets through exhibitions, publications and homages as a generational duty, alongside the parents of Catalan art modernity, such as J.V. Foix, Salvat-Papasseit, Josep Palau i Fabre, Joan Perucho and Joan Brossa.
Now it is up to Vinçenc's contemporaries to acknowledge and celebrate their contribution to the twinning of poetry and visual arts, following the tradition that these poets have inherited from artists such as Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí and Antoni Tàpies.
Fertile Eyes is a tribute to Paul Éluard, a figure that played a similar role to Vicenç, many years before and in another context. He went through Dadaism and Surrealism, to show what Vicenç Altaió meant and still means for Catalan artists at the turn of the century.
