US Trade Center Graphics in Europe
to
Centre de arts Santa Mònica La Rambla 7, 08002 Barcelona
This is the first public exhibition of the graphics of American trade centres in Europe - Paris, Stockholm, Frankfurt, Milan - that Lanfranco Bombelli created during the sixties and seventies. Shortly before his death in the summer of 2008 the artist presented these materials to his family with the proposal that they put them on exhibition for the first time. The outcome of this initiative is the exhibition being presented at the Arts Santa Mònica, which will consist of an installation designed by the artist Tom Carr to display these works by Bombelli alongside pieces by Duchamp, Cage, Richard Hamilton and Max Bill, providing the context and capturing the spirit of the Concrete Art and Pop Art of the period championed by Bombelli as an artist and a gallery owner.
