Every Thursday Artte hosts jam sessions in which the audience can participate in a big jazz party. Led by Claudio Marrero, there will be improv and your favorite standards.
Claudio Marrero is a saxophone player, songwriter and lead member of the project BEO (Big Electric Orchestra). BEO joins 22 musicians on stage to create a mixture of jazz with new music genres such as hip-hop, electronic music, and pop creating a unique sound. This Thursday, the jam session will be preceded by a concert with the Tomas Fosch Quintet.
Fosch has three albums and Solid Society (2019) is the third of his career, after his debut with Lluç Jazz (Quadrant, 2013) and MASO (Temps Record, 2016), an album that gathers his experience in the USA where he lived for a long period of time. Solid Society includes original pieces by Fosch and standard arrangements with touches of hard bop. It evokes his current experience in Barcelona, a period of songwriting and introspection, of interaction with other musicians, of creation of a solid, firm, timeless sound.
Fosch, an original musician with a voice reminiscent of the most modern jazz piano, was trained at the Liceu Conservatory and later at UNT in Texas. He has studies under Aaron Goldberg, Michael Kanan, Stefan Karlsson, Michael Palma, Jerry Bergonzi, Tygran Hamasyan and Mariano Diaz.
